Finance Applications and Data Sharing
If you request a finance quotation or apply for motor finance through MW Trade Cars Ltd, we will collect additional personal and financial information required to process your application. This may include:
Full name
Date of birth
Address history
Employment information
Income and expenditure details
Bank details (where required by lenders)
Proof of ID and proof of address
Driving licence information
Other financial information relevant to the application
We will securely share this information with our regulated finance partners - including Tandem Bank and any other lenders or brokers we work with - for the purposes of:

Once transferred, each lender acts as a separate Data Controller and their own privacy policies apply.
Credit Reference Agencies
Finance partners may carry out both soft and hard credit searches with Credit Reference Agencies, including (but not limited to):
Experian
Equifax
TransUnion
These searches may leave a footprint on your credit file. You will be notified before any finance application is submitted to a lender.
Lawful Basis for Processing (UK GDPR)
We process finance-related data under the following lawful bases:
Contract: To provide a finance quotation or submit an application at your request.
Legitimate Interest: For internal administration, preventing fraud, or responding to your enquiry.

Data Retention

Finance application data is retained for up to 6 years.
Enquiry-only data may be retained for up to 12 months unless a transaction occurs.
Transaction and finance records may be retained longer where legally required.
Data will only be retained for as long as necessary and will be securely deleted once no longer required.
